When Covid-19 hit, we were unable to do the lemonade stand because it would have been unsafe. 2020 was a very hard year for many of us, and it was especially hard for the police department. I felt compelled to donate to them one more time. This was the year that sparked my crafts. My mom, dad, and I decided to paint and stamp inspiring words on rocks to deliver to people who wanted to continue to contribute to my cause.
Thanks to the help of many generous people, we were able to raise $770 for the police department. Though we couldn't see anyone in person, people were so kind to donate to help my cause. We made approximately 200 rocks, and my dad and I delivered them. My mom was the one who ordered the rocks, paint, and stamps in the first place. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have been able to do this fundraiser.
I collected for the Springville Police Department, and I was recognized at one of the city council meetings for my endeavor. I was recognized by the Mayor of Springville (at the time, Mayor Child) and the Chief of Police (at the time, Chief Martinez.) They gave me a gift hamper with many beautiful things inside of it that I still keep today.
